A very nice and posh area, Rohrmoser is the place of residence of the ex-President Oscar Arias, and El Nuncio, the Pope’s representative where many ambassadors tend to live alongside a number of wealthy Tico families. It was developed by the Rohrmoser family as one of the first master planned subdivisions. This area has a variety of restaurants and small B&B’s that are great for the traveler just looking for a warm bed to spend the night. Pavas which forms part of Rohrmoser is the location of the Tobias Bolanos Airport. This small airport serves many domestic flights and some cities in Panama and Nicaragua. There are a number of shopping  Plazas built  along the two main boulevards Plaza Mayor being the oldest and largest. It is also home to the American Embassy and several elite schools.
